The Inspire Ring (for learners aged around 10 and above) consists of 36 paired descriptions that profile a teacher's Teaching Style. It invites the learners to select the descriptions that best describe their teacher. The Ring helps learners make sense of the teacher's attitude to and relationships with pupils. The Inspire Ring gives immediate feedback to the teacher in the form of a personal chart, allowing a structured and focused discussion of the teacher's strengths and issues for development.
It gives four bits of information:
- overall inspiration score from 0 to 100%
- the balance between support and challenge e.g. 60% to 40%
- a % score for each of the teaching styles
- your specific strengths and issues
You can create a collated report of a group of learners through ASSEMBLY. See resources for more information.

Depending on your browser a preview of your chart will be displayed which can be printed. We will also attempt to save a pdf file onto your device. If no preview appears find your pdf (in Downloads) to print your chart.
